The Economy of Bulgaria - April 2012

| The latest annual NSI data confirm that after the decline in GDP by 5.5% in 2009, the Bulgarian economy is growing again in the last two years (by 0.4% and 1.7%). Although the growth trend in the Bulgarian economy started recovering in the second-third quarter of 2010, growth is still weak, and slows at the end of 2011 by more than the expected up to 0.3% for the last quarter of 2011. Short-term data for the first 2-3 months of 2012 do not seem encouraging for a positive economic growth in the first quarter. The report expects a decline in the economic growth, albeit weak. |
