Serbia’s relations with NATO: the other (quieter) game in town

While all eyes are set on the formal opening of the EU membership talks with Serbia on 21 January 2014, this policy brief explores the prospects for Belgrade’s closer cooperation with NATO. While the EU’s accession process is the force majeure dominating current political and economic development in the Western Balkans, the regional security architecture is still based on NATO. EU and NATO integration are still considered as mutually reinforcing processes.
